CityNeighborhoods Paris Has a Permanent Home

What began as an extension of the CityNeighborhoods approach beyond New York has now found a permanent home of its own.

CityNeighborhoods Paris now lives permanently at CityNeighborhoods.Paris.

The Paris project grew from the same underlying idea that has guided CityNeighborhoods.NYC since its beginning: that understanding a city requires sustained attention to the places between the landmarks—the neighborhoods, streets, boundaries, infrastructure, histories, everyday environments, and accumulated details through which a city becomes lived.

But Paris demanded its own structure.

Rather than simply adapting New York’s neighborhood framework, CityNeighborhoods Paris developed around the geographic systems through which Paris understands itself: 20 arrondissements, 80 quartiers administratifs, neighborhood councils, the two banks of the Seine, and cultural neighborhoods whose identities do not always follow civic boundaries.

That evolution is why CityNeighborhoods Paris is now an independent site rather than a section of CityNeighborhoods.NYC or CityNeighborhoods.World.

The CityNeighborhoods family now has several distinct but connected homes. CityNeighborhoods.NYC remains the original comprehensive New York project. CityNeighborhoods.World explores cities, countries, sites, and connections beyond New York and Paris. CityNeighborhoods.Photos serves as the growing photographic archive of the larger endeavor. And CityNeighborhoods Paris now has a domain that reflects its own identity and long-term purpose.

The address is no longer temporary. There is no next migration planned.

CityNeighborhoods.Paris is the permanent home of CityNeighborhoods Paris.

That permanence matters because the project itself is designed for the long term. Paris will continue to grow through additional photography, mapping, research, cultural-neighborhood development, and future walks across the city. Like CityNeighborhoods.NYC, the goal is not to create a finished guide so much as an accumulating record: one capable of becoming richer as the city changes and as the project returns to it.

New city. Same underlying method. Its own structure, its own identity—and now, finally, its own permanent address.
