Broadway-Flushing - Queens - NYC

Broadway-Flushing is a subsection of the larger region of Queens known as Flushing. To its west is Linden Hill, while Whitestone is to the north. Bayside is to the east, while Auburndale and Murray Hill are to the southeast and southwest, respectively.

The Neighborhood

Broadway-Flushing is dense, lively neighborhood in the heart of Queens. Its major thoroughfares are Francis Lewis Boulevard and Utopia Parkway to the east, with Northern Boulevard along its southern border. It is also home to Bowne Park.

Broadway-Flushing is a charming neighborhood located in the northern part of Queens. Known for its beautiful Tudor-style homes, the area offers a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of New York City. The streets are lined with trees, and the community is tight-knit. There are numerous green spaces in Broadway-Flushing, Queens, including Bowne Park, which has a playground, basketball courts, and a public pool. Residents can also enjoy the nearby Flushing Meadows Corona Park, home to the Queens Botanical Garden and the Queens Zoo. The neighborhood is well-connected to the rest of the city thanks to multiple bus lines and the Broadway subway line, making it easy for residents to explore beyond the neighborhood's borders.

The neighborhood of Broadway-Flushing in Queens is named after two of its most important landmarks - Broadway and Flushing. Broadway extends all the way up to northern Queens where it intersects with Northern Boulevard and becomes the main thoroughfare of the Broadway-Flushing neighborhood. Flushing, on the other hand, is the name of a town that was founded in the mid-1600s by English colonists in the area that is now downtown Flushing. Over time, the term "Flushing" came to encompass the surrounding area, which then included the current-day Broadway-Flushing neighborhood. Today, Broadway-Flushing continues to be a vibrant and diverse community that celebrates its unique history and culture.

Broadway-Flushing is a picturesque neighborhood situated in the northeast portion of Queens, New York. The area originated as a farming village in the seventeenth century and later developed into a residential community in the early twentieth century. Broadway, the neighborhood's primary commercial thoroughfare, was originally known as "Lawrence Road." During the early 1900s, the affluent Flushing community recognized the area's potential for residential development and invested in infrastructure improvements such as roads, schools, and parks. The neighborhood's most distinctive feature is its abundance of architecturally significant homes, many of which were constructed during the 1920s and 1930s. Today, Broadway-Flushing is one of the most highly sought-after neighborhoods in Queens, renowned for its charming streetscapes, excellent schools, and welcoming community.

Broadway-Flushing, a neighborhood located in northeastern Queens, boasts a number of notable landmarks and attractions. One of the most significant landmarks in the area is the Bowne House, a well-preserved 17th-century Dutch Colonial home. Additionally, visitors can also explore the historic Lawrence Cemetery, where famous figures such as the Lawrence family members, the Astor family, and even poet Rene Ricard rest. Broadway-Flushing also boasts a number of beautiful parks such as Bowne Park, which offers table tennis, bocce courts, and basketball courts. Lastly, the neighborhood is home to some of the most stunning houses in the borough, from beautiful Tudor-style homes to extravagant mansions.

Broadway-Flushing, Queens happens to be the birthplace of several famous people who have achieved fame in the entertainment industry. The list includes notable figures like Tony Award-winning actress Laura Benanti, film and television actor Ed Helms, and former Disney CEO Michael Eisner. Laura Benanti started her career as a child actor on Broadway and later received critical acclaim for her roles in various plays and musicals like Gypsy, She Loves Me, and Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown. Ed Helms, who is famous for his role as Andy Bernard in The Office, also grew up in Broadway-Flushing. Michael Eisner, who spent his childhood in the neighborhood, went on to become a successful media executive and is responsible for reviving Disney during the 1980s and 1990s. These famous personalities have put Broadway-Flushing on the map and continue to inspire aspiring actors and actresses in the area.
