CityNeighborhoods.NYC is proud to announce a new milestone: The completion of touring and photographing every neighborhood in The Bronx! Over the course of two weeks, this July 2023, I walked 70.1 miles and took 9,605 photos of the 71 neighborhoods and parks in The Bronx. It will be some time before I can process, upload, and present these photos. But in the meantime, please enjoy this photographic highlight tour of every neighborhood in The Bronx:
What a wonderful morning for photos! The air was warm, but not hot, with a refreshing breeze. The blue sky was decorated with slowly increasing clouds. On this day, the plan was to make a few inroads into (south) eastern Queens. Time was limited, so I chose a relatively short 6 mile trek westward along Jamaica Avenue from Bellerose to 188th Street in Queens Village. From there, I picked up Hollis Avenue and followed it back east through Hollis and a small portion of St. Albans. The last leg of the day began where Hollis met Springfield Boulevard, which I followed north back to where I began in Bellerose.

www.CityNeighborhoods.NYC has hit a milestone: I have set foot (and photographed) all 90+ neighborhoods in Queens, New York City. Given the sheer size and diversity of this borough, it is time to recognize this level of accomplishment. To commemorate this milestone, I’ve released a new video tour, featuring, in alphabetical order, every single neighborhood in Queens.
I truly hope you enjoy your tour!
I’m happy to announce that, with the publishing of its YouTube video, another section of Brooklyn & Queens is now complete: The Hole!
This means that I’ve spent enough time and taken enough photos in this neighborhood to finalize its page here at CityNeighborhoods.NYC..
I am looking forward to returning in the near future to discover and capture more of its rich history and visual style.
In the meantime, enjoy the results:
This chilly Sunday morning photo shoot had a small window of clear skies before high, nondescript clouds rolled in. With that in mind, I chose to focus on a small-yet-iconic section of Brooklyn: DUMBO, Vinegar Hill, and the Brooklyn Navy Yards. Along the way, I also spent time in Brooklyn Heights and Downtown Brooklyn.

On a relatively light day of photography, I spent the morning hours in the scenic, bucolic neighborhood of Oakland Gardens, and the evening hours in the similarly peaceful and bucolic Floral Park.
