Queens Photo Tour - July 13, 2022

July 13, 2022 was a proper summer's day in New York City. It began in Forest Park, and led through Forest Hills and Forest Hills Gardens before reaching the intended neighborhood: the crescents of Rego Park. After that, the return journey meandered through Middle Village, before crossing Glendale and ending where it began in Forest Park.

Queens Photo Tour - July 11, 2022

July 11, 2022 was all about Jamaica Center - the sliver of Queens south of of Hillside Avenue and north of the rail artery bordered by Archer and 93rd Avenues; west of 180th Street and east of the Van Wick Expressway. Here you will find historical homes, industrial enclaves, dense apartment blocks and a lot of commerce packed into a relatively small area. Jamaica Center is more than just a transit hub. It’s a vibrant, bustling community that feels like it is constantly in motion, thrumming with energy and the collective hum of iconic Queens.

Special Project: NYC 2010-2013

I’ve added a new page to the Special Projects: New York City: 2010 - 2013! This is a collection of photos from before I even knew what this project would be. These are, in fact, the very first set of photos I took in New York City ... the building blocks to what CityNeighborhoods.NYC would eventually become. While the project itself began, in earnest, in 2013, this is a look at my earliest ideas of what capturing this city might turn into.

Manhattan - Queens - July 1, 2022

July 1, 2022 presented me the first opportunity to return to Manhattan for a photo tour in nearly 6 years. In that time, Millionaire's Row had sprung up, so a primary focus would be to capture the new supertalls. I began in Midtown South and walked north to Midtown, then south again, ending in Flatiron at Union Square. Bookending the trip was Richmond Hill and Kew Gardens, Queens.

Queens - June 20, 2022

The goal for this day’s photography was to walk the length of Lefferts Boulevard from north to south, through the neighborhoods of Kew Gardens, Richmond Hill, South Richmond Hill, and South Ozone Park to JFK Airport. The return trip was north along 130th Street, providing another chance to tour these neighborhoods.
